- De Beers, the World’s Premier of Diamond’s Authentication has Adopted Blockchain Tech
Global diamond mining firm De Beers has launched a proprietary blockchain-powered platform to manage its diamond production and distribution called Tracr.
The firm has long been at work on a blockchain system to trace, record and manage its diamond mining, production and distribution across the globe. The company has finally released the platform at scale to serve the wider diamond mining industry.
De Beers has already incorporated the system into its global operations and estimates that 25% of its diamond production by value is registered on Tracr for 2022’s first three Sights. In the diamond industry, a Sight is a collective term for a sale event and a respective lot of diamonds for purchase.

2. Google Cloud’s Unit Creates Web3 Team
According to CNBC, Google Cloud is forming a Web3 product and engineering organization that will build services for developers. new job postings have appeared on Google’s internal Grow tool, Amit Zavery is telling employees in an email.

3. Instagram to Support NFT
Instagram intends to support widely used crypto wallets such as MetaMask. Plugging in their wallets, users will be able to prove NFT ownership, showcase them on their profiles and tag the creators who made them. It has been confirmed by Coindesk as well that this will be a free feature!
And they say NFT is dead lol
4. Binance chip in on Elon Musk’s Twitter Bid
Elon Musk‘s $44 billion USD bid to purchase Twitter has now attracted attention and money from cryptocurrency companies and platforms. According to new reports, crypto giant Binance has decided to invest $500 million USD into Musk’s vision of a decentralized Web3 internet, which aligns with the company’s CEO Changpeng Zhao’s own aspirations.

5. OpenSea Discord server hacked
Nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea suffered a server breach on its main Discord channel, with hackers posting fake “Youtube partnership” announcements.
A screenshot shared Friday shows fake collaboration news, accompanied by a link to a phishing site. OpenSea Support’s official Twitter account tweeted that the marketplace’s Discord server was breached Friday morning and warned users not to click links in the channel.
